PARKS & RECREATION NEWS

  1. New Swim Teachers Needed in Allen – WATER you waiting for?

    Lifesaving swim lessons are taught year-round in Allen Parks and Recreation. It’s easy to apply as a swim teaching assistant and earn the required certification to become a Water Safety Instructor! Applicants must be age 16 or older to apply.
  2. City to purchase 16 acres of property from Allen ISD

    A property once home to one of Allen’s last working farms will now be fully owned and cared for by Allen Parks and Recreation.
  3. Golf course and service closures Aug. 15-16

    The Courses at Watters Creek will perform scheduled aerification on Aug. 15-16. Some courses and services will be unavailable during this time.
  4. Allen is planning its first public dog park

    Plans are moving along for a new dog park at Jupiter Park. Once a bid is approved, construction is expected to take 9 to 12 months with expected opening in spring 2023.
