Permit requirements
All public and semi-public swimming pools, spas and public interactive water features (PIWF - such as spraygrounds) must obtain a new health permit at the beginning of each year. You must schedule and pass an inspection before operations begin.
Pool Operator requirements
To operate a public pool, spa or water feature, you must maintain one of the following certifications. All certifications must be approved by the regulatory authority:
- Certified Aquatic Facility Operator (AFO)
- Certified Pool/Spa Operator (CPO)
- Pool Operator On Location (POOL)
